Remembrance event for Ilker Kılıç
Turkish Cypriots for the Labour Party and The Republican Turkish Party (CTP-UK) has announced that they’ll be holding a remembrance event for Ilker Kılıç on 15th of December Sunday, at the Turkish Cypriot Community Association.
Ilker Kılıç, one of the important figures of the Turkish Cypriot left movement, who lived in England for many years and, made significant contributions to the struggle of the Cypriot community and the exercise of its social rights in London.
Kılıç passed away on 27 September 2019 due to his illness. His sudden death caused a major shock and sadness within the community.
İLKER KILIÇ REMEMBRANCE EVENT
Following the unexpected death of İlker Kılıç, the chairman of the Turkish Cypriot for Labour Party, Ahmet Hilmi called on Kılıç’s comrades, family and friends to commemorate his honorable life. Ahmet Hilmi’s made the following statement:
“Turkish Cypriots for the Labour Party and CTP-UK invites all friends to attend the celebration of our friend and comrade Ilker Kılıç’s life at Turkish Cypriot Centre in Haringey on 15th December at 16.00. Ilker, was a loving husband and a proud father. His family’s loss has no bounds. He was also an internationalist thinker. Apart from his family, he lived to enhance the socio-political status of downtrodden. So, join us for the celebration of Ilker’s life on 15th December.”
The commodity event will take place on 15th December Sunday, at 16:00 pm.
