TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment Ünal Üstel: ‘We have surpassed the embargoes’
TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment Ünal Üstel emphasized that they have eliminated the promotion embargoes with digital marketing.
In his statement, Ünal Üstel pointed out that it is vital to adapt to the changing digital platforms, Üstel made the following statement:
“We live in a digital age whereby everything changes and develops rapidly, constantly renewing and updating itself. Tourism is a rapidly developing and changing global sector as much as technology and science. The data and statistics obtained clearly show that we have exceeded the promotional embargo with our digital marketing efforts.
Contemporarily, more than 1.3 billion travelers travel from one country to another. Hence, world tourism revenues exceeded $ 1.2 trillion. The changing age creates its human model and brings new needs therefore, the momentum of this great transformation has to keep pace with tourism, which has more internal dynamics and diversity than other sectors. Like other countries which have succeeded in becoming a preferred tourism destination, North Cyprus must employ the opportunities of the digital advancement to reach out to the changing tourist profile.
In this context, we are also in the first two months of the ongoing and introductory digital platform in more than 50 popular sites such as Daily Mail, Independent, Sky News, The Telegraph, Evening Standard and Accuweather. We reached over 2.4 million visual impressions and over 190,000 videos for our North Cyprus promotion adverts.”
