London bus ravaged by fire in Kennington
Dramatic pictures show how flames engulfed and ravaged a London bus in Kennington.
The blaze, which took hold of the vehicle at around 10.30am on Friday (December 27), thankfully didn’t result in any injuries.
A London Fire Brigade crew rushed to Kensington Road and officers managed to have the situation under control by 10.50am.
The photographer who captured the shocking incident on camera told MyLondon the bus in question was a 59 service towards Euston.
Officers from the Met Police also attended the blaze, which took place at the junction with Fitzalan Street.
Kennington Road was closed in both directions for around an hour, with Transport for London warning followers on Twitter: “A23 Kennington Road (SE11) is currently closed in both directions at the junction with Fitzalan Street, due to a bus on fire.
“Traffic is currently flowing well on local diversion, though delays may occur.”
The road was re-opened at around 11.20am.
