A new Looney Tunes movie is on the way
There’s a brand new Looney Tunes movie on the way that promises to bring back Bugs, Daffy, Porky, Elmer, Tweety, and all the rest.
While the Looney Tunes have been a part of TV history since 1930, they’re getting a big update for the 21st Century as that colourful cast of cartoon characters come to a whole new generation.
As far back as 1975’s Bugs Bunny: Superstar, the Looney Tunes have been taking a slice of the box office with feature films. As well as notable cameos in the fan-favourite Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, the gang have starred in Space Jam and Looney Tunes: Back in Action. But what’s next?
According to Variety, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ David Green is helming a live-action hybrid focussing on Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. The appropriately titled Coyote vs. Acme will follow that sneaky coyote as he tries to best his enemy and fails at every turn.
Wile E. first appeared in 1949 animated short “Fast and Furry-ous” and went on to star in 49 cartoon capers. The silent character may not have much to say, but he still remains one of the most popular Looney Tune characters of all time.
